I was born in Purwokerto, a small and beutiful city located in Central Java, in 1968. I had grown and spent my time in Purwokerto until finishing my study at Senior High School (SMA N 1) before I moved to Jakarta in 1987. While I was attending public school (primary to secondary level), I was also attending Islamic school to learn some basic knowledge about Islam. I continued my formal education at the Academy of Statistics (now Institute of Statistics) – a scholarship college under BPS-Statistics Indonesia and finished my bachelor in statistics in 1991. After graduating from the Academy of Statistics, I was directly employed as a teaching staff at the Academy of Statistics. In 1997, I had opportunity to undertake postgraduate study (Master of Arts in Population and Human Resources) at Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia and completed my master degree in 1998, and backed to work in BPS-Statistics Indonesia as a researcher in the socio-economic field. In 2004, I returned to Australia to undertake my PhD in the School of Geography, Population and Environmental Management, Flinders University, Adelaide. and finished in 2008.
I like reading articles about Qur’an and Science as I believe that through reading ayah (verses) of the Qur’an which contain scientific knowledge my belief in Allah will increase and it is also an effective way of presenting the Existence and Greatness of Allah in my shalat.
This blog is developed as a medium for learning, sharing knowlegde, and silaturahmi between muslims. I am hoping nothing from this blog except the Mercy of Allah. Some articles in this blog were presented in two-weekly discussion (pengajian) conducted by Indonesian Islamic Community of South Australia (Masyarakat Islam Indonesia Australia Selatan/MIIAS).
